Beltsville, MD | Snow in the MD Suburbs. Real Estate Takes a Holiday
As I write this blog post, the MD Suburbs are preparing for what may be the most severe snowstorm in years, if not a decade. The snow is moving up from the south and is said the be quite heavy. At times, laying down 3″ and hour at some points in the storm. If the predictions are right, it’ll start sometime late tonight and continue through Sunday morning with accumulation of 15″ to 25″ depending on the location.
Obviously, there will be no real estate activity tomorrow. It’s bad enough looking at houses during “light” snow days. It’s bad after it has snowed and you just have to trudge through it. However, I think I can safely say that no one will be answering the phones at real estate companies and that Realtors will not be opening lock boxes or meeting clients to get signatures on contracts. It’ll be a day for people to reacquaint themselves with their family and with their snow shovels. Lots of hot chocolate and, probably, lots of sore backs tomorrow night and Sunday morning.
All I have to do is think about what I might write about tomorrow. Blogging, after all, is an indoor sport.
