Crofton, MD | Nautilus Diner – Revisted
Awhile back, I was on a kick visiting diners in the area. I’m a sucker for diners. So, in my travels, I had breakfast one morning at the Nautilus Diner in Crofton, MD and wrote about the experience in this previous blog post. To be honest, it was a less than glowing review.
A Second Look
This morning my wife had a hankering to go out and have some “breakfast food”. Sure. We have cereal and egs and bread at home but it’s not the same experience. So, we hopped in the car and took a trip out to the Nautilus Diner.
During the first trip, I was alone, it was the middle of the week about 10:00 and the place wasn’t very crowded. This time it was Saturday morning during the Christmas season and the place was hopping. Still, there was no wait to get a table — it’s a pretty big place — and, with more people, it seems to have a different atmosphere.
We were waited on promptly, the coffee was decent and the waiter friendly. We ordered and really didn’t have to wait that long for the food to come out. My wife ordered the French Toast with bacon and eggs and I ordered the pancakes with Canadian bacon and toast. Both meals were very tasty. I had ordered the sausage on my previous visit and was none to pleased so I stayed away from it this time.
Even though the place had a good number of customers, my wife and I could still hear ourselves talk and we were pleased that the waiter returned from time to time to refill our coffee mugs.
The Verdict
Based on my second visit, I’d say the Nautilus Diner in Crofton, MD is definitely worth a visit. In addition to the good food, they have a spectacular pastry/dessert display just as you walk in the front door. It was so enticing that we ordered one to go for our dessert with dinner and it was wonderful. We also had a chance to talk with the owner/general manager who was very friendly and attentive.
All in all, if you have a taste for good diner food that is reasonably priced, the Nautilus Diner in Crofton, MD is the place to go.
Do you have a favorite place to eat out? Let me know. If it’s in the MD Suburbs, I’d like to go check it out. Just place a comment with this post! Thanks.
