Happy Thanksgiving
In my neck of the woods, it’s a foggy, damp morning. It’s has stopped raining, though, as it has been for the past three days. I’m thankful for that.
There’s really a lot to be thankful for —family, friends, health. I’m also thankful for all the people who are out in the world volunteering to help families that have fallen on hard times. They may have faced foreclosure or be out of job or faced an illness. There are lots of people out there helping out and for that I’m thankful. There are also a lot of people out there making sure that my life is made both comfortable and safe − firefighters and police and hospital workers, there are all the people making sure the METRO runs and all the people in the restaurants, convenience stores and even some of the retail stores trying to get a jump on Black Friday.
Yes, there is a lot to be thankful for and this is the day to stop, if just for a moment between the turkey and the candied yams or during half time during the football game to remember we are blessed.
