The Quietude
Winter has always been a slow part of the real estate business. As I have written about in a previous post, there is just too much going on for people to really be out there looking for houses. So, I busy myself with getting ready for the holidays.
This year I’ll be sharing Thanksgiving dinner with some friends from my church community. This is a little different for me and my wife. It’s also something I’m looking forward to doing. Our job is to bring the pumpkin pie. Well, I can’t bake. My wife doesn’t bake. So that means we have to go get one.
Luckily, I have a client whose father has decided to start working in a little neighborhood bakery in his retirement years. It’s one of those part-time jobs people get sometimes to do what they’ve really wanted to do all along but had to work instead. This guy is baking at Touche Touchet in Columbia, MD. They make everything from scratch with great ingredients. I’m sure the pie will be delicious.
So, we’re set. I pick up the pie on Wednesday and go over on Thursday to watch a little football and eat a lot of food. Then it’ll be nap time.
Don’t you love Thanksgiving?

Slow period? Hope that you get a call from someone who needs a home before New Year’s… just to add a little excitement to your holiday plans!

Amen to that, Doug. I don’t mind working over the holidays in the least!
