Veteran’s Day 2009
Just a short blog post today to remember and honor all the men and women in our Armed Forces. These men and women voluntarily sacrifice time away from their family and friends to defend our country. All too often they are put into harm’s way and are wounded or killed. The recent tragedy at Ft. Hood, TX is but one reminder that danger is not reserved to foreign lands.
My heart and thoughts go out to all the families of the fallen and wounded. My gratitude goes out to those who serve now or have committed their service and retired.

Ken,
Good post and good man for posting it!
I attended a very touching ceremony at my son’s school today where old timer VFW guys, dressed in uniform were honored.
My son won the 5th grade essay writing contest and got to read his essay on Veterans to about 200 people.
People just don’t realize the sacrifices made so folks like us can sit around and BLOG and go to Starbux.
Unbelievable and at the same time, our country that offers its residents the most freedom in the world, takes so much crap from the rest of the world!
Anyway, didn’t mean to take it negative.
Here’s to the vets, alive and fallen!

Thanks, Rob. It must have made you very proud to se your son up there in front of 200 people. If that were me in front of 200 people, I would have needed to change my pants.
